This is worrying

Obviously a scam, but a quick google reveals it's becoming common and there's little you can do about it.

Today i got a letter through from my insurance company to say that in May 2012 i was involved in a hit and run on my Bellagio. Three people are claiming personal injury against me.

I cannot remember if i was in London or not on the date they said. I have no recollection of hitting anything and I certainly did not hit anything on my bike to cause personal injury to others. I am sure that if I hit anything that hard I would come worse off and why wait a year and a half? Now got the stress of the insurance company. The other party is going through a solicitor rather than their insurance so they have no insurance?
