Cycling - Word of Warning.

Postby austinlegro » Tue Aug 04, 2015 2:17 pm

I confess to being a very occasional motorcyclist these days, hate getting it filthy and having to spend hours cleaning it.
Started cycling to work last year, then found myself popping out in the evenings, then the weekends, then with groups, then with clubs.
Started on an old mountain bike and now have new mountain bike, cyclocross bike, aluminium road bike and a carbon road bike.
Weight loss so far - nearly 4 stone.
Finally dragged the R1200 out of the garage for some motorised 2 wheeled mayhem for a change with a result that I've now had to give away / sell;
2 pairs of leather trousers, 1 pair motorcycle leather trousers, 1 pair armoured jeans, 1 pair Weise trousers, 2 leather jackets and 1 Weise jacket.

Just thought I'd warn you - stick with engines or suffer the consequences. :-(
Decided to buy a new Ducati and here I am...

Sounds like Stoney. He started cycling and lost a huge amount of weight, bought all new gear and then got so into it he sold his motorbike.

Motorcycling does not make you Fat. Life style choices do.

Good work with the cycling :wink:

Wish I could report the same gains .. sadly not; cycle to work here past the lake etc about 15km a day for last 2-3 years not lost an ounce. Also do some recreational at weekends. Have a road bike & mountain bike. Am on a eating window only eat during a 8 hour period don't eat at all for 16 hours not lost an ounce. I do have a thyroid issue and low testostrone which apparently both contrive to make weight loss dificult and don't I know it. Not particularly over weight just a bit of a tum and that is not drink I seldom do so.
