r1100s Value

Postby Malj » Thu Sep 24, 2015 8:12 pm

due to old age (me not the bike)and infirmity the r1100s may have to be exchanged for something a little bit more touring friendly, possibly an older BM air head, still not sure what to do or buy, I still kind of like the bike.

Anyway I know the price would be dependent on what I buy but any ideas or thoughts on the trade in value?

It’s on a 99 plate and just coming up to 34K on the clock, I would say it’s in good condition maybe not mint but right up there. Pretty standard with DB screen, Carbon type front/rear mudguards. Privately I would say between £2000 and 2250.

Hi Mal ~ I spent the summer looking for a 1100S and not a lot is moving at fixed prices. A 2003 with same mileage went for £2K last week. Service history seems to enhance if it's BMW or specialist and complete. Full years MOT and good tyres also help but anyone with some knowledge will worry about clutch splines at your mileage. Colour and accessories e.g. luggage matter too.

Personally, I'd put it up for £1750 opening bid on an eBay auction this time of year and cross my fingers. HTH
