Posting images

So assuming your using a Windows PC and have an image on the desktop that you want to post

goto

http://tinypic.com/

and use the "Browse" to find and upload your image to their site (you may have to enter a "security" question

Once uploaded you'll be be presented with 4 option boxes in yellow with black text.

Image

The one that has IMG encased in square brackets is the one you need, copy it so that it contains the open IMG and the close /IMG

[ IMG ]http://i58.tinypic.com/2w23fuo.jpg[/ IMG ]

(note spaces have been added at the IMG's so as to "disable" it so that you can see the code

this will, when posted create the image

Hope that helps

This is all just to complicated! Surely there must be a way of making it easier to post photos on here??? I have lots of photos I'd love to post on here, but it's just a nightmare to get it sorted. Please make it simple, for idiots like me!

Perhaps it's me but I don't find it complicated at all

1 You upload the pics to a storage location

2 You link to that stored pic

3 It displays in your post

Simples :D

With the new site software, it's now easier to add attachments to a message. Just look at the attachments box below your message composition window, add attachments and then click on the "place inline" button, to include the string in your posting which references the image:

I use Dropbox, and it USED to be that simple, but no more. The teenagers at DP have changed things so the public links seem to work only for email.

But - never fear - HerrFlick is here ...

I had the same problem at another forum, and, after hours of sleuthing over a hot keyboard:

Link from Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uzg91qsljvxv8bz/hells%20angles.jpg?dl=0

This does not work in the format, below:

[ img]https://www.dropbox.com/s/uzg91qsljvxv8bz/hells%20angles.jpg?dl=0[/img]

Now - change dl=0 to dl=1 (at end of link), and viola :-D
