Hi Peeps,

currently a Honda VFR1200X owner - looking to swap over to the R1200S. So thought a look at the forums might prove beneficial before parting with any money. It might give me insight into any problems/faults etc

Cheers

Hello and welcome, not too much trouble with the 12s, there have been a couple of BMW "safety" recalls recently, (rear flange and fuel flange) but other than that they are quite sturdy, obviously with a bike around 10 year old there is always something to look for but take your time good ones come up pretty regularly.
Phil.

R1200S and loving it !

I went to the BMW day at Bury Hill last weekend and rode the R1200RS(2017) very nice, impressed with the engine/fueling and lack of snatch in the drive train unlike the Honda. A very smooth relaxed ride with oooomph if you needed it - could be next on my shopping list :D

Just to tempt you to join club sooner than later :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-R1200S-R1200-With-Low-Mileage-and-in-Immaculate-Condition-01634-811757-/162488713634?hash=item25d51501a2:g:HVkAAOSwRUhY~eNG

Looks reasonably clean, bit pricey (?), some stickers to remove. . .

My advice however is don't rush, the bike will come in due course. . . .
