Deeply saddened

Postby slparry » Sat Aug 05, 2017 3:38 pm

Shocked to find out the guy who was killed near Denbigh on Friday was one of my favourite customers, a genuinely lovely bloke who bought an RT off me last year to go touring with his wife as she refused to tour on their ZZR1400. Bob was initially suspicious of the RT but had resigned himself to the reduction in power from the Kawasaki to please the missus. However, he became a total convert and would rave to anyone he could about how stunning a bike they were and how awesome the handling was.

They'd just come back from a recent tour of Spain. Genuinely saddened by his death.

Rest in peace Bob

It certainly hits home when you know the person.
Sad news for sure.

Not sure what to say, so sorry to hear this, must be a real shock.

That is a bummer Steve but unfortunately in your line of work you have more interaction with bikers than any of us so the odd bit of sad news will be personal.

Reminds me of an incident a salesman once told me about, where a couple about the same age picked up their brand new bike and hadn't got 10 yards down the road before some plank reversed out of his garage and took them out.
He (the rider), died at the scene and his Wife died the next day.
Always sad when it happens to someone we know, I think because it reminds us that it can happen to anyone regardless of skill and experience.
