Well, despite expectations I've managed to get to 60 years of age (on Sunday) .... Went into work as it's a short day.

My colleagues treated me to a lovely Balvenie :) As well as decorating my desk

Then my kid brother and his wife took me to one of Chesters, nay the worlds, best steak restaurants, Upstairs at the Grill

https://upstairsatthegrill.co.uk/

Started off with a lovely blue cheese souffle, then a 24oz Aberdeen Angus sirloin on the bone, along with a huge selection of sides, and a port and cheese to round off. I'm glad my brother was picking up the tab as the steak was £39.50!

On Monday I bimbled around locally on my F800GS enjoying the glorious sunshine. Then today, Tuesday, I went for a spin on my BCR with my mate Barney on his. Went up to Barmouth for a coffee then on to Betws y Coed via some of Wale's finest roads :D

Barneys has a Lazer and mine has a Remus, must admit they did both sound well :D

Too late to say “Happy Birthday”? :occasion6: :occasion5: if so then keep it for next year!!
I’m intrigued by the whiskey matured in rum casks. No conflict of tastes?

Intriguing indeed, let me explain, It`s a bit like Alchemy, these guys are searching for liquid gold and these ideas come to them in dreams or periods of lucidity. However a more simple explanation would be that suitable casks are in big demand and one takes what one can get.

Sounds fun to me.

I had a few distillery tours on a lads day out around the Spey when I was working in Scotlandshire. It was very interesting although the smells were more than my delicate nostrils could cope with. I almost lost puked, but it could’ve just been my hangover from the night before. The tasting at the end was wasted on me. Now if I ever visit the Guinness brewery ...
I’m enveous of guys that can chill out with a tumbler of scotch with just an ice cube. I just grab a cuppa with marmite on toast. Lots of toast. Nomnomnom.

Now then Steve

Sorry I missed this, the heading didn't grab me

Many happy returns on turning 60 and its only a number, you know that right

Balvenie Caribbean Cask I found on our tour of Scotland last month and it is GORGEOUS imho, enjoy :D the Ardmour I haven't tasted yet. I haven't bought a bottle yet but its on my list. Oban is my Whisky of th moment.

Sounds like you've had a suitably excellent time on and since your birthday, quite right too. The bikes look fantastic together, bikers will have been 'coming in their pants' seeing two out at once, seeing one is rare after all 8)

All the best Mate.
