tonight 5pm

Postby boxerscott » Fri Aug 31, 2018 11:21 pm

So after weeks,in fact of months of getting on my bikes, tonight seemed right. full blue and white kushitani leathers, gsxr K5 anniversary 750 and a blast over the border on our mega a 68. life's great. It was not the ride solely, it was the anticipation, the perfect evening and perfect bike and everything that just fell into place. The grass did not get cut. My non ferocious did not get sorted for our holidays, my blues were abated for 30 mins but in that time I swear I had a moment in my life.

God Bless our society!!

With the A68 you've certainly got a great road on your doorstep. Couple of drinks to celebrate your good fortune when you got back? :D

I always used to go the A68 route when going home to Dundee, but last time I went (on my VFR750 - so must be 16 years ago), I triggered a load of speed cameras - fortunately all front-facing - while overtaking slow moving traffic. So I've never gone that way again - A7 to Edinburgh now.

Is it still prickling with speed cameras and bimbling cars along the A68? I guess not, if you're having Zen moments of sublime enlightenment on it (I know the feeling, and there is nothing to equal it).

Perfect description of why we ride bikes. It's not just for the ride, its the whole experience, before, during and after the ride itself and sometimes it has to be by yourself, just you, the bike and the road. I understand and fully agree with the sentiment Chris, glad you had a blast Mate 8)

Actually Ian, I did imbibe in a couple of Old Jock`s preparing for the long winter nights and transition from Blondes to Brunettes. It tasted like imaginary nectar secreted from Cleopatra`s glands.. as the sun dropped over Lanton Hill

BTW not forgotten about a back end Bucchy Run.

It will take me a while to get that image out of my head!

Certainly still up for a Bucchy run if we get a weather window sometime in October.

Cheers
