Not hibernating, out riding. It was a bit bracing particularly when I encountered 30 miles of freezing fog.

No fun in riding on leaf mashed damp roads up here in the Borders. Mild last night at -3 deg c. Road salt liberally spread. No thanks. I really do want to hibernate. These short days are bad for my mental fitness.

We were out last Sunday 10 bikes and 11 members - starting at 2.5 degrees c and ending up at 9.5c by the time we got home.

We are are small club but apart from one or two older members (over 70) no-one puts their bikes away for the winter - it makes us laugh when dealers and Magazines start talking about "The new season" starting in about May - we've probably done about 10 rides out before the beginning of May. Looking at my fuel stats I'd done 1,454 miles before May this year :D . I try to post all our rides on facebook along with some photos.

Salt is a Bu**er tho' so I usually ACF50 the bottom of the engine , exhausts and fork lowers before they start salting the roads and then only rinse the bike off with cold water and dry with a blower.

Bush fires Chris, all around Sydney suburbs and east coast. Watched a forest fire in Canada jump a 30-40m wide river, ‘kin scary so is the noise it makes.

Hi Al, hope you and the wife are well.

As always , I do a few rides a month out here, normal quiet sunday ride is average 80 to 160 miles ....

Bless this lovely country , compared to some of my sunday rides in UK...

Often, there'd only be a half dozen bikes at the Steel Horse cafe in Raglan .

Last sunday a local photographer snapped a few pics , well hundreds of pics, but a few of me .

Nice to hear from you Gerry, we are both well thank you, I have recently retired & had all summer in the garden, on the beach, sailing and grandad daycare but only been out on the bike 10-12 times all summer, too busy!! Sue has cut down to 3 days a week, so is now supervising my “jobs to do now you are retired list” two days a week instead of one :(
Sounds like you are still enjoying being in the sun, certainly a good decision to go, ride safe.

Al

Good to hear Al, Take care , don't work too hard , remember we are not as good working as we once were, we definitely need to keep our skills alive on the bikes though !

Yes , this warm air is very good for my COPD, thankfully I'm on very little medication now.

I guess, its also got some thing to do with a lack of stress as well.

Take it easy , and have a great christmas and new year .
