Offer of Help

Postby BoxerCup R » Sat Mar 28, 2020 1:22 pm

I'm off work for the foreseeable and so, I've cleaned and rearranged the garage and its about perfect, photos, pictures, certificates, clock and tools etc all hung up out the way, haven't had chance in the last 12 months since moving in but now its much better. Done the same with the garden shed, brushed and hoovered out, everything now has its place and I 'm very happy. What now, some gardening perhaps when it is dry and some decorating, mmmm.

It was then that I wrote out some cards with my name, mobile and address on and took them to the old folks two storey flats out the back of us, 36 flats in two storey buildings and gave them out offering help with picking up groceries, collecting prescriptions, putting out bins and walking their dogs, if they have one lol. Got a good response from 5 old dears I met, they are ok for now but will keep my details incase they need help going forward.

I then visited two local pharmacies to offer my help as a biker to deliver or collect any prescriptions or anything they liked tbh and got a great response from one Managaress in particular who thanked me whole heartedly and said she will contact me early next week, so hopefully I can help in some small way in the local community. I checked with Carole Nash and they are now including any volunteer work to help with the situation using car or bike that is insured with them at no extra cost and they don't even want advising of the fact, Well done Carole Nash, a marvellous gesture I think. So I'm ready to go.

Cheers

Top man !

We've volunteered for NHS and due to our dubious past are expecting a call from the local police :D
But this is direct volunteering the quick way

John, you are a top guy and just the kind of bloke i am looking for to expand my new male escort agency business. The old dears are invaluable but could you put your cards in the Morningside area? I`ve recruited Dave the German cos he is minted with all the tissue currency he delivers and Black Al who boasts a massive snow blower.

How resourceful we are!

I might have considered it for a bit of extra pin money, but unfortunately I don’t think it would be allowed under the current travel restrictions, and it wouldn’t be a good idea to work from home as Sue is already doing that!!
