Folks,

I have been sitting down in front of my computer, trying to come up with some designs for an exciting new project I'm developing. I'd like to include some pictures of appropriate bikes in the project, but I'm struggling to find any suitable large images of the R1100S and the R1200S in all of their various colour schemes. I have searched using google images with limited success. What I am searching for is old press images or wallpapers which are at least 1200 pixels wide, showing well exposed images of the bikes in profile. I can cut bikes out of whatever background they are on, but need images without distractions in front of the bikes. These are the ones I have gathered so far, but they are all pretty small, so would not scale beyond a couple of inches at a print resolution of 300dpi:



I'm particularly looking for images of Mamola reps or Boxercup paint schemes on the R1100S, and any other solid colours. If you have any of theses sorts of image, or know where I can find them, please put a reference on this thread, or send me an e-mail using the address "paul@boxertrix.com".

Hi Paul, I have a few pictures of my old Silver 1100s I can send you but they have other stuff in the background(inc Gerry b), with your computer skills I am guessing to you can “disappear” the background, and Gerry!!

Looks good in the sun, if the old bones had allowed to me to ride it any distance it would still be in my garage. How are you doing Gerry? Things still look pretty grim in Spain.

Thanks for your help to date. Keep them coming! Sadly, given the vintage of the R1100S and the state of the art in digital photography at the time, there are not too many large images kicking around. Once we are all released from quarantine, I might have to visit some owners in the South East of England to take some pictures of my own of your mighty machines. I will bring chocolate biscuits

Al, yes , we are still in lock down , and the govt announced last night, an extension to 26 April, so another 21 days still to go .

To be honest, being as I have COPD , I'm not unhappy about this enforced rest, gives me a better chance of survival.

Yes, the beautiful silver machine, is now apparently black, still here in Spain , registered to a man in Birmingham .

I still have my red one, although its not been ridden for a month now.

Sadly , I have decided to let it go, all tidied , cleaned , with all the boxes mounted, but then just before I was going to advertise it, bang , the lock down.

I love the machine, but as I said, the riding I love doing, all the little mountain roads around here, its too big , heavy and uncomfortable for aged bones .

So, the plan was to sell it and look for a smaller dual sport , V strom , BMW 700 or 800, even considered a Royal Enfield Himalayan , all will be adequate for my needs .
