Bike Crime

Postby boxerscott » Sun May 22, 2022 8:06 am

I paid an eventful visit to Newcastle yesterday. My aim was to check out the Ducati Diavel at M and S Westgate Rd. Riding east along Westgate I became aware of how filthy the place was getting, how many new grotty looking junk food outlets had popped up and a distinct lack of black and white striped natives kicking about. Westgate Rd used to be a mecca for bikers it is now a total mess. So much so that M and S shutters were down and access had to be had by rear entry through the service yard. I noted some non natives flitting around on electric scooters as I parked my bike up. Went for a greasy spoon and questioned myself if my bike was still going to be where i left it when I returned. I got chatting to two local bikers who were quick to tell me all about bike theft in this area and how prolific it has become.

They also told me that the Urban area of Benley at the high point on Westgate Rd had become a" total fxxkin`shxtole..ya nah" It is depressing to hear that our industrial heartland cities are been taken over by inhabitants who share none of the values that previous generations had, I know some of these values were not perfect but I fear things are getting worse and not better.

Sad .

It's only going to get worse Chris, if you believe this "cost of living" crisis we hear about every bloody 30 minutes.

Then again. We could be in Ukraine, so I guess it's perspectives.

Let the good times roll.
