Toll tags.

Has anyone managed to get a motorcycle specific toll tag for French tolls. Bikes are group 5 but I can’t find anything that is specifically for bikes or if there’s a process when at the toll to recognise that you are a bike. The extra cost between a car and bike can be reasonably significant over distance.

I have an E-movis SANEF tag.

Used it for 3 yrs now and love it! Put in top pocket or on top of tank bag and the sensor picks it up.

You must use the lanes without the height restriction barriers though, as those are for cars and will charge at class 1 rates.

The lanes with the ‘t’ on the right side of the tolls are generally the ones to use (lorries and motorbikes).

It even works in the ones that you simply slow to 30kph in.

If you go through the wrong lane and get charged for a ‘car’- you can log on and get that changed. They look at the rest of your journey and realise that you simply got the wrong lane that time.

There is a surcharge (on each month that you use it) but it is small, and when you consider that it obviates the need to:

Carry credit card in your tank bag/top pocket
Carry some cash similarly.
Handle tickets.
Have to deal with getting wet gloves back on.

It really is a no-brainer!!

Also- if you are a record-keeping sad bastard - it shows your entire peage costs for the tour !

I’ve been using a Monzo card that show all the expenditure including who and where on a map and no bank charges which is great but I’m getting a bit fed up if occasionally having the ground sensors not recognise that I’m sat there with a queue of cars behind me. Not to mention how nice it’ll be to just sail through without stopping. Been meaning to do it for years.

With the tag, you must have the tag back - facing outwards, as if it is mounted to a windshield.
