Dancing Queen

Just thought I would appraise you all of todays experience to save you trying it for yourselves.
Very damp misty lunchtime, had to do a quick 40 mile round trip. Outward, about half way, in deepest MOD territory on Thanet, flicked out to pass uncle Bert, flat cap specs hearing aid dentures still in the glass, and then spotted a ex WD trenching tool lying across the white line just four metres in front of my tyre, at eighty mph. Hmm. Too late. Hit it and hope. Well, it made a very loud clang, I do hope that wasn't an important bit of the bike, and we leapt over it. The bike demonstrated a new Fandango into the on-coming. No way of stopping/slowing, road was too greasey. Time to get out of there. Hit the throttle hard and aim for the now very small gap between new car beside me and oncoming.
Whoever it was with their Landrover that's now missing a steel shovel, I can let you know exactly where I last saw it.
Oyster. 1999 R1100S. Almost original.
