It's really capable - I bought it to have something that is viable for 2-up trips.

It stops me going beserk, but is really just as quick as a sports bike in the real world - ie topping out at <110. I still have the Gixxer for that little crazy moment....

The downside is that relatively few other bikes wave/nod, so I'll overtake as many as I can.

Highly recommended, although I've only had it a week, and it's still running in.

My old 1150 would just nudge 130 - had 1*0 out of the loaner 12GS the other week. ;)

Having ridden the R1200R last saturday (the only Hexhead I haven't ridden is the RT) I'd put that down as the best Boxer BMW make at the moment. It was a total hoot. Quicker than a GS and with lighter steering plus no frigging buffeting from the screen.

Sorry  have had mine off the clock.

Yoy are right though not many nods or waves from other bikes, mind you they are power rangers in the main.

Having had both Tiger and GS I honestly do beleive the GS has the legs on the Tiger. over to you Chris :)

I was referring to the real-world riding bit - obviously a GS will top 170 no problem

Well i have to say thats pretty tuff talk from a BM owner!! Mr Boxadog!!,i'm rather pleased Archie has come down from the stratosphere and his Gixxer and is going to mix it with us mere mortals!! with his GS,although if you get wifey to pack well you can bin the panniers!!!,tank bag/top box thats it!!.

Hopefully i'm, oops sorry were!! going to bum a go on a 1050 Tiger today, with bit of luck i'll hate it,cuz i'm still looking for my non abs/esa.black and yella k1200s.

Hi Chris,

When's the new Tiger supposed to hit the streets? I have an insurance cheque which arrive this morning, burning a hole in my pocket...

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
