Battery lead kit

Postby McBoxer » Fri Feb 05, 2016 1:17 pm

If (like me) you have the BMW battery charger that fits into the socket on the side of the bike, but not the attachment that allows you to clip it on to a stand alone battery, then have a look at this on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MHZIVHA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I was unsure how well it would fit with the (I thought unique) BMW plug / socket, but I bought one as it was less than a tenner, and I can confirm that it's a good fit into the BMW charger output lead, so I am now charging my spare battery in the relative warmth and comfort of the utility room.

There is also the added benefit that you can use it to connect a remote battery (or your car battery) to the charging point of the bike for a jump start. Could save you having to take the starter cover (or worse, the fuel tank) off for access?

Quality seems ok, but I've only had it 2 days so can't report on longevity - hence me not putting it in recommended products!

The female charging socket (phwar, snigger) sits under the seat on the left hand side of the bike (if fitted). This kit comes with a metre long cable with a male plug on each end (double ender?....) and another lead with a female socket at one end and a pair of crocodile clips at the other to clip onto a battery
