I'd been in the RAF for just over a year at this point, and had saved like buggery to buy it. I'd always wanted one, thinking it was going to be the be-all/end all and I'd never need nor desire another turntable ever again.

Thing is, the LP12 was a perfectly good turntable, but extremely overrated, and now so over priced it's a joke. I recently put a modern LP12 up against my Sony PS-6750 - the Sony murdered it. The sad thing is that that Sony was made in around 1980, about the time the mags were slating anything which wasn't an LP12. How different it would've been if folk had used their ears rather than falling (as I did tbh) for the marketing b/s. We missed out on some fabulous turntables back then. :(

If that F3 has a lens I'd have his hand off. Given that I need specs these days an HP is the F3 for me too. Of course using film ain't cheap but it's great to use and I find I think about what I'm doing more.

What kind of lens are you after Steve?

I have a few manual Nikkor lenses including a lovely 50mm f1.4, in pretty mint condition if I remember. Been so long since I looked in the bag I can't remember what I have but I think I have a 135mm f3.5 and a lovely 28-85 f.3.5 zoom. I even have the original boxes!! How sad is that?

Couple of bodies, one FM2 and an FM, both with motor drives as well but last time I looked at prices they were on the floor so have kept hold of the lot.

DT

EDIT: the 135mm is a f2.8, not f3.5. Lovely lens

Just got hold of what looks like a very clean OM2n/Zuiko 50-1.8

Shame you'd not said earlier Greg, I'd have been very interested in some of your Nikon gear. I'm still a Nikon chap at heart, but hope to have some fun with the Olympus.

Absolutely! :D

If the Oly turns out to be a shed - it's from a dealer and has been serviced/new seals etc and looks good from the photos - I may get back to you. :)

There is (was?) a gorgeous FE with 50/1.8 (AI) for sale on eBay but from a private seller. Would rather buy from a dealer or a trusted source tbh to know a camera's been looked after.

I considered the OM2 as my second camera, but found it too small for my mitts :?

Ended up with a Contax RTS :)

It's a fabulous spot, Mitch - looking the other way there's a fabulous road twisting and turning its way down the mountain with the hydro-electric dam crossing the valley. The restaurant in the photo also does the most amazing mugs of hot chocolate. 8)

A lot more picturesque than the A24 at Boxhill or the A406 at the Ace Cafe. :)

Hi Steve - it's up from Interlaken where the Grimselpass meets the Furkapass. Cracking bit of road, and a beautiful spot.

That looks so like the road up to Durham Cathedral. Lovely tones but instead of the scanner, you need Durst enlarger - now it just so happens......
