Got some family from Australia stopping with us this week so took my cousin for a wander round our beautiful County City. The newly re-opened Lincoln Castle is well worth a visit and the Cathedral is always breath-taking (as is the walk up Steep Hill). :D

There are worse views to have whilst drinking coffee - from the Cathedral Coffe Shop...

Thanks fellas. :)

Yes, the Magna Carta is most definitely not photo-able. Hardly surprising I guess.

The Castle restoration is stunning, well worth a visit if you're in Lincoln and the wall walk provides great views of the City and surrounding countryside.

Great photos, Gromit.

My wife and I collect cathedrals, and Lincoln is our favourite (we lived in Carlton Scroop, just down the road a few miles).

What always gets me, is that someone (without all the tools and machinery available today), said "I've got this plan for a really huge, massive building made with big blocks of stone, and it'll have great towers hundreds of feet high.". And folks looked at the design and said, "yeh, that'll work."

I guess I lack vision...
