Petrol on my pods......

Postby air_cooled67 » Tue Nov 16, 2004 8:24 pm

I have very carelessly spilt petrol on my pods (indicator pods that is so it could be worse!) and they have satined very badly. Tried cleaning with regular bike cleaner/ car cleaner but they still are stained. Any hints as to what will clean it off would be gratefuly received.

I have successfully used "Mer Bumper black cleaner" (available from all good halfords stores, if that's not an oxymoron) to clean off petrol splashes on my pods. I assume that similar products from armorall etc would do the same.

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Tell you what, if I have no luck with amorol or dubs 40 I will swap my custom stained go faster pods for a set of plain old carbon ones. Any takers?
