Eek, 2 screws left over!

Help!
Not being very familiar with the R1100S I need a bit of assistance here...
I bought a de-Cat pipe from DanMoto and prepared the bike for fitting. It took a few weeks to arrive so when I was waiting I did the following things in preparation and I have obviously forgotten all the steps i took.
Removed all bodywork, raised the tank and unclipped the O2 sensor, removed the rear exhaust system, (this involved partial removal/lifting of the rear subframe), removed the cat.
Have fitted the de-Cat pipe, sensor, exhausts, rear end, tank and all bodywork and am left with 2 M5x12mm socket cap screws. Could these have been removed when I had the tank raised? I am at a loss as to know where these two screws have to go!
They are in good nick so I know they havent been exposed to the rain/salt etc so I can only assume they were in a "dry area".
Has anyone any ideas?
Just by the way, the de-Cat pipe although I have it fitted, was not very well made in terms of thread cutting. Two of the thread cuts were not perpendicular to the flange and meant I had to drill out the exhaust bosses to accommodate.

might help with a photo. What colour are they? on the BCR (at least on mine) all the body work screws are m5 dome head. Alternatively check parts diagram at rainbowmotorcycles.com which might give you an idea

Numberplate hanger maybe. Have look on realoem for the part. It should give you an idea.

It has been a long time since I owned an 1100S, but from memory there is a triangular plate that supports the cat, could those bolts be from that? as you have removed the cat that plate is no longer needed, so you would have "spare" bolts.

Not the numberplate hanger, it does use M5 socket cap screws but they are longer. I'm sure they came from under the tank somewhere!

I never have screws bolts left over, am meticulous in that department.

I do forget to torque the buggers up though!!

The reason I had the two socket cap bolts left over was I had bought some extra cap head screws to replace worn ones which are mainly used in fairing, tank, bodywork etc. These are easily damaged when removing them, especially if they are corroded so I am fitting a different type, with integral washer. So I have about 15 of the original ones left over, will I did have until I threw them in the bin!
