Recommended screen R12S

Postby victorlaszlo » Tue Jan 31, 2017 6:32 pm

Looking to buy a double bobble dark screen for my 12S. What are the options, and what's out there economically? Us Peugeot the best bet or any other suggestions?

Thanks Vic

i bought a Puig and it cracked within a month - it seem too tight for the aperture and had to be stretched into fitting. Mate has a MRA which seems a lot better

I have an MRA which fitted perfectly and seems very good quality.

+1 for MRA,
excellent quality and the clear looks really good, and there customer service is 1st rate, I have a special MRA not now available here to fit my Ilmberger carbon nose fairing, on the last Welsh Boxertrix ride out it was punctured with a stone (my fault riding too close ) a couple of emails to MRA and it was sorted :D

I've got the Puig on mine, been on for nearly 7 years with only one problem of a broken tang - which was my fault. :(

I like my puig. It too has a broken 'tang'. Although quite a stiff plastic so easier to break than one with a little more 'give' to it, mine was caused when I dropped it at 2mph in the Alps a couple of years ago. Mirror hit the deck, pushed the fairing an inch and pinged the screen.

So MRA it is then. Any experiences here of the "Racing" vs "Touring" screen?

Expect the touring screen to have an upwards facing lip and the racing version to be more of a classic bubble - any advantage having the "touring" version?

I can't give you any feedback on the touring screen but the double bubble (that's the only screen that is made for the carbon fairing) works really well for me I'm 5'10" if that helps, previous to that I had the MRA with the adjustable spoiler, that too worked really good and was probably a bit better at disturbing the air flow to stop buffeting, but they are excellent quality and I've not had any problems except for the stone damage.

For the sake of balance, I have a Puig double bubble and it fits perfectly and appears to be of good quality.

Cheers! I had one too but the seller sent it cracked and with one tab broken and refused to assume responsibility :( But otherwise it looked and fitted well.

My mate , Owen fitted a Skidmarx screen on his RM .

When I was at Shepton Malet bike show last week , they were there , so I have ordered a new one from them.

Apparently 3 inches bigger , so we'll see how it fits when it arrives , and what a difference it makes when riding in windy conditions .

My Skidmarx Screen arrived today .

Fitted perfectly .

Will take a test ride on it tomorrow .

I laid the original one on top of the new one , as a comparison on size .

Gerry the Original post was for a 12s, don't really see where a 11s screen comes into the equation! Especially since Skidmarx don't make a 12s screen, just saying like

On that point, this lot are on my manor. I'm happy to drop in with my standard 12S screen at some point to see if they'd knock something up? I suspect they took one look at the mounting tangs and thought, "Sod that". Be handy if they could do something along the lines of your MRA though, for those with a centre fairing like yours [smilie=thinking about.gif]
