Folks,
I have just fitted an LED tail light panel and idicators on my F800S, from Nippy Normans. The same panels also fit the R1200GS and the indicators can be used on the R1200S.
The indicator panels also incorporate a brake light strip, for added visibility whilst braking.
Here is the rear of my bike before fitting the new lights:
Here's the LED tail light panel:
And here it all is fitted, with a new clear tail light lense:
Ignition on:

... whilst braking:
Whadaya think?
Cheers,
Paul

LED light panel & rear indicators
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
Like the indicators, but TBH I reckon the stop / tail light looked better red! Am about to get the LED panel myself for reliability and brightness, but I'll keep the stock lens (I have a red bike).
Not sure about £50 for a PAIR of indicators though - were they the "red baron" version? I might have to stretch to a set, that's how awesome they look. Thanks for the write-up!

I have just posted the pictures of our 1100S rear lights on my blog. The extra brake lights in the indicators show up the same through my white lenses and Judes amber lenses.

I'd like some LED indicators but don't like the idea of then having it fit a resistor to get them flashing properly.
I've just got a 25 LED stop/tail light - looks just like standard and is as bright as normal bulb.
I've also got a 6x white LED pilot light, which looks rather good.
It's partly cosmetic, partly for reliability and partly to save a few joules of energy for those heated grips should I feel the need to use them.
EDIT - Cost £15.05 including VAT and delivery from http://www.ultraleds.co.uk and was delivered next day.

Re: LED light panel & rear indicators
Hi,
As you can see from the date of the original post, that was 11 years ago. I bought them from a site called Nippy Normans but after a quick check on there they don't stock them any more. Given how long the R1100S has been out of production, you might struggle to find a source for these now. I don't recall who manufactured them, but might be worth checking with places like Wunderlich.
Regards,
Paul
