Shorty Pipe for R1200S

Postby poko » Mon May 29, 2017 6:22 pm

Hi,

Looking for some help. Want to replace the stock pipe with a short pipe that comes out following the catalytic converter next to the rear wheel. Want to remove all the "stuff" under the seat. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I have seen it done, but the guy simply fitted an aftermarket end piece after the cat. It looked OK, but I can't imagine it helped the fuelling any.

Where did that picture come from? I presume it is a mock up / photoshop?

I don't know what to suggest, but good luck.

You see the 1200 R and GS with a similar setup and with Akrapovic race cans so it shouldn't be too difficult, but I expect you would need a power commander or remapping to optimise the fuelling, particularly if the cat is dispensed with.
