Bleedin' brakes R1200S

Hi,

I'm needing to change the brake fluid on my 2006 R1200S which has ABS.

I've done a bit of Googling and I think that I can just use the conventional method of putting fresh fluid in the master cylinder and then just pump it all through the system and out via the brake caliper nipple.
At first I thought that I might have to take the tank off to access the ABS block to flush it there.

Soooooooooooooooooo.....................

Just wanted to double check that I can just flush the brake fluid through as I might on a non-ABS system.

Cheers

Check this old thread.

You should be able to bleed normally, but read the whole thread.

Cheers, thanks for that reference.

Looks like one guy used a vacuum pump, seem to remember that I read somewhere that this might not be a good idea - something to do with possible damage to the ABS unit?

I'm hoping that I can bleed the system without using a vacuum pump.
Does that sound reasonable?

Cheers

did mine last year , no problems at all
no pumps vacum or otherwise ,, just the traditional way , tube / hose into a bottle with some fluid in already.

Yep, same here! Conventional method of bleeding works just fine with ABS on R12S.
