Hello To the Wise

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on Re Mapping on the 1200s i have fitted the custom Boosster plug and the bike runs great have thought about a full remap or external power box

advice would be grately appretiated please

Talk to Hilltop Motorcycles in Hinkley before you make any decisions.
They have an excellent reputation.

i went with the booster plug route with a K&N and cat removed and it feels really good - i did wonder whether i should go more 'technical' along with the associated costs but not sure whether there's a bit of a conspiracy to think we need more? Does the word remap help us sleep any easier?

After some deliberation I went with Hilltop for my R1200S, and I could not be more pleased with the result, it is so much more responsive and I reckon its the best money I ever spent on my bike. Do I believe the claimed hp and torque increases? frankly I have no way of telling other than the bike feels much stronger all round. Is it a better solution than a rapid tune or PC or Rexxer? don't know 'cos I've never ridden a bike with any of those mods. A big plus for the Hilltop remap is that is is invisible to any tech inspection and will not be overwritten by a dealers latest map.

Not at all, it was £350 when I had mine done, and if you return with another bike you get it discounted to £250 IIRC.

Bear in mind that £350 is cheap because it is a "before" reading from the rolling road and a full set up on the RR, together with a final "after" reading and graphs from the RR.

So compared to £850 just for the RR time (1/2 day) and £600+ (can't remember exactly) for a map to set up a car on throttle bodies & ECU Ignition - Hill Top are cheap for the results you get.

Also factor in tyre wear. When I had my Ducati 1198 mapped on a local dyno, it came away with a significant flat centre on the tyre. Bad enough for me to buy a new one.
