R1200s panniers

Postby MickB » Mon Jul 23, 2018 9:26 am

I have been offered a set of panniers for the my bike and the seller states that the locks can be recoded to my key for my bike. Is this true and how does this happen presumably a dealer job? If this is the case anyone done it and how much were they charged.

Thanks as always for the input

Yes the locks can be recoded, but you'll need to have the locks in the unlocked position (and ask for a spare key preferably just to make sure)

Take a look here, the K1200S panniers are the same type

Easy to do yourself if you have the tumblers that were provided with the locks.

I was going to follow this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFoke2TS1O8. Looks simple enough.

That's good to know but sadly I missed out on them by a day. Better luck next time
