ULEZ - 1150GS - anyone passed the requirements?

Postby Broooom » Fri Jun 28, 2019 10:38 pm

Hi,

just wondering if there are any 1150GS's out there which have been excepted from the ULEZ charge. As far as I understand there are two possibilities to get excepted:
1) Get a certificate from BMW (CoC Certificate of Conformity that is stating Euro3 emission norm apparently £120 or so) and not sure if the 1150GS (mine is yr 2000) will pass.
2) Get a NOx certified reading below 0.15g/km (from https://www.bikerandbike.co.uk/loophole ... exemption/ and https://www.bikerandbike.co.uk/plenty-o ... ions-test/). According to that website https://www.nationalemissionstestcentre.com does tests for £175.

Now I wonder if any has ever passed the requirements and if so if we could share the certificate. Maybe a solicitor's approved copy would be sufficient for TFL - that would make it easier for a lot of us & save a few £'s.

Anyway, happy boxing :)

I got a letter from BMW confirming the NOx emissions based on the info in the European Type Approval documentation. That is a third route. You can ask for this by using the same email as for the Certificate of Conformity - eccoc@bmw.co.uk

Mind you, TFL/CClondon still haven't managed to add my bike to the database despite confirming months ago by phone that they have all my documentary evidence. Just this week I have had to appeal another PCN. I've made several phone calls and emails and still they can't do this one basic thing.

Incidentally, from the photo in my PCN I would say that they are using the regular traffic cameras with human operators WITHIN the zone to do the enforcement, not the automatic plate reader types that were put in place originally to enforce the congestion zone.
