Turn canceller

Postby Blackal » Fri Aug 12, 2005 7:28 pm

Anyone know which Turn indicator cancelling relay fits the 1100s BoxerCup?

Recommendations on who stocks them would be appreciated also.

I get fed up cancelling manually.

Cheers!

Al,

Have I read this wrong, are you looking for a relay to cancel your indicators. My BCr does it as standard, I thought yours should be the same.

Mine appears to indicate forever, but I know that there are timer-controlled relays that will self-cancel. But, I understand that different BMWs use different regular relays and hence the self-cancelling type varies also. I didn't realise that some of the BCRs were fitted with them as standard?

Do you have the details of the unit? (photo and part number would be brilliant)

Otherwise - I am taking the bike to Clarks in Dundee on Monday- I'll ask them.

Cheers

Al,

Will try and find my Work Shop CD, as I don't have my bike as it is being repaired at Cupar's.

It might take awhile as I have just moved and certain things are still in boxes.

Andrew,

Thanks for that - I have the very same thing here (just never checked it). The owner's manual seems to indicate that the turn relay does reset automatically, but I'll see what the tech manual says.

To be honest - I've never waited that long to see if it does cancel.

I think the after-market ones also allow cancelling by re-pressing the turn switch used initially.

Thanks again for your offer.

STOP PRESS ***** The indicators do in fact - selfcancel!!!!!! I've never waited that long before! The length of time is quite long but I guess not if you indicate in plenty of time on approach.

Thanks Andrew - you've saved me a few bob!
