My clutch began slipping recently and I put this down to abusing it manoeuvring around the parking place at the time. I replaced it all (Sachs) and now only a few hundred miles later I experienced slip this morning at higher RPM...not happy! What have I missed ? Is there any free play adjustment ... thank you in advance ..Andrew

There's no adjustment. When you replaced the clutch did you fit just the driven plate or the pressure plates too? Got any photos of what was taken out? It could be an oil seal allowing contamination causing the slip.

Well, if you replaced them all there should be no problem with spring pressure, and in honesty the pressure plates you have don't look worn enough to reduce spring pressure much. If it's slipping now so soon I would suspect oil ingress contaminating the plate. I had this happen on my bike. I had to strip the gearbox and replace a seal. Not a trivial job but definitely do-able if you have a little mechanical acumen.

"Not a trivial job but definitely do-able if you have a little mechanical acumen."

Is that a metric or imperial "Acumen" and is it 1/2 inch drive or 3/8th

Update gearbox removed please see photos on removal - could it be the clutch slave seal?

Yep, certainly looks like the seal has gone.

In the first photo there are pieces missing from the bottom of the pressure plate. No doubt causing the mechanical damage to the plate itself.
There are also signs of damage on the new plate as well. What is the metal ring on the right hand side on the inner circumference? It doesn’t look healthy but it might just be the angle of the camera. I’m not sure that oil is the only problem going on.
Might be worth considering a plate with the longer spigot (correct terminology?) as now sold by Motorworks.
Good luck getting it all sorted out.

I just checked back on my posts here and when I had this problem it wasn't the slave seal it was the gearbox input shaft seal. I ended up stripping the gearbox and fitting a new seal but I also drilled a weep hole in the cavity to make sure any further leaks got drained away instead of migrating through to the clutch.

Hi all. Thanks for all your advice. I have it all back together and have changed the slave seal. I am not totally convinced yet but time will tell! Will update as the miles accumulate.
