Oil filter removal

Postby madshep » Sun Aug 18, 2019 5:10 pm

Hi all,

hope someone can help?

I have recently bought a R1100s (2004) and want to change the oil but need to know what size tool I need to buy to remove the filter.

Looked online and several different sizes ( 68mm / 76mm etc) are mentioned.

Which size do I need please?

Thanks

Measure the filter you have and replace with the same size and order removal cup to match. Job done

I use OE filters and the tool that fits them is Knecht OCS 1 which measures 76 mm internally and about 75 mm between the serrations that grip the filter, which measures about 75.5mm...
Aftermarket filters vary so make sure the tool you use fits , I've seen some ugly **** ups online over the years.

You could order the filter from Motorworks and buy the removal tool at the same time
