I bought some S1000R indicators and fitted them to my R1100S at the rear. They are smaller and less likely to catch when swinging a leg over, plus they are a little more modern looking, especially these ones with the smoked lenses. On top of all that, they are more readily available because the S1000R is a more current model AND the front and rear are the same so there's twice as many per bike.
Anyway, the swap is just about as easy as it gets. First remove the old indicators. I cut the wires but later I realised that you might just possibly be able to thread out the wires and terminals from the old units and feed them into the newer replacements so look into this before you get the side cutters out. Anyway, to carry on:
Remove the lens and internals from the S100R indicators. Just one small screw and it all pops out. Then you have to remove this little wedge bit from the post.
I used my bench grinder but you coud carve it off easily enough with a stanley knife.
Next, you drill out this rivet. I used a 5mm drill. You may have to hold the rivet from the rear to stop it spinning.
Then drill the hole out to 10mm
Now simply pop the post into the hole and use the original retaining screw to secure it in the original fixing.
And that's it, you can route the wires like this if you want.
Note: if you use LED bulbs in the front, this is going to make your indicators flash fast.
