Datatool 3 Alarm Question

Postby julian » Thu Nov 04, 2004 9:10 pm

I have a factory fitted Datatool 3 on the KTM - 18 month's old.

The alarm has started to trigger itself for no reason maybe two or three times a week (usually at 02.00 in the morning).

Anyone had any experiences of these alarms and any suggestions, or do they all do that?

Strange that,
the alarm on my Wifes Citroen started to do the same thing usually at about 02 /0300 the Citroen dealer said it was to do with air pressure and to make sure one of the air vents was left open and it should be ok.
Sure enough worked.

Not sure where the air vents are on a KTM though.

Just about to get me coat

I am on my third DT3 and the only problems I've had were starting up at Holme Moss (next to the telecom mast) and the alarm going off in the night (caused by my cat jumping on-I do not garage!).

"As set by factory" the alarm is sensitive so do not park on Blackpool prom :-)

you can adjust the sensitivity via some enormously long winded beepy process. It tells you how in the manual - can't find mine as its clearly in 'a safe place' along with various other important documents.....

I find the alarm will go off some days in a cool breeze - other times you can sit on the thing and paddle it about without affect...
