*** Welsh Weekend 2019 *** - IS Done :D

Postby slparry » Wed May 02, 2018 12:23 pm

Right everyone, after emailing almost every hotel in Wales, or so it seems :) I've found a contender! I dismissed the quotes from one at £500 per person per night as I figured it may be a little warm for some ;)

However, the one I have in mind only has 20 rooms of varying standard available on the weekend of Friday the 3rd May 2019. So book early to bag a bargain.

We're talking of £40 per night per person per room in shared rooms for bed and breakfast (with £20 extra for single room occupancy) .

With a group dinner on the Saturday evening coming in about £20 for three courses.

Friday evening everyone can sort themselves out food wise whether in the hotel or in the locale as and when they arrive.

Of course being a bank holiday weekend means that those travelling a distance could elect to stop an extra night if they fancy, the hotel has said they would offer the same rate for the extra night.

It's the Dragon Hotel in Montgomery, there looks a good selection of beers on tap, and it's in the small town so there's scope to wander. The hotel has its own car park at the rear too.

PS the hotel has a pool too :D... and there's a model car museum in the town .... that's it I'm sold :D

They will provide a menu closer to the time for us to help them out by pre ordering.

So please start booking now (asap to ensure a good room), they will take £10 per person per night deposit. Please post here once booked in. When booking mention the rooms are reserved for Steve Parry's BMW Boxertrix Weekend 3rd / 4th May

To clear up some teething problems with booking :)

"Hi Steve.

Just to confirm.

We have agreed the dates of Friday and Saturday 3rd and 4th May 2019

Room rates - single occupancy rooms will be £60 and rooms with two people in will be £40 per person per night (£80 per room)

On the Friday people can book individual tables with us and order what they like from the menu to be added to their bills (in advance is preferable as we will book up being a Friday quickly)

On the Saturday we will do a group 3 course menu for you which we can discuss next year - A pre order will be required in advance and will be around the £20 mark. (again added to the room total for you all)

If anyone wants to stay the 3rd night then we will do the room rate the same.

If at any point you need an update then feel free to contact me and I'll let you know whats booked in.

Kind regards

Stuart

Sounds good. Where about in the principality is it located?

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
