WW 2020 ..... .... for 2021????

Postby slparry » Thu Apr 02, 2020 7:27 pm

Well, I've been holding off in the vain hope that there would be some change and we'd all be mobile again soon. However, it's now looking like it's not going to happen.

The Lion Hotel contacted my today and asked what we were doing.

Initial email was
"Good afternoon Mr Parry

I hope you are well in these uncertain times.

I wanted to know if you have had any thoughts on your upcoming BMW weekend? Our preferred scenario is to move bookings rather than refund, as this is will have a huge impact on our business.

Would you like to look at postponing the weekend further? Let me know your thoughts.

Best Regards
"

I replied that we would "probably" swap the dates to similar for next year, I'm not entirely sure we can guarantee this will not be an issue even by September!

Their reply was

"Hi Steve

I have the 18th September free, or we could do next year the 7th or 14th of May.

What do you reckon?

Stay safe"

Personally my feeling would be for 7th May next year? Is that OK with everyone/most?

br
Steve

Hi Steve, were of the same opinion re the dates for next year, I’ve been holding off in the vain hope of a minor miracle but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think we’re happy to postpone till the 7th May 2021

Hopefully we will get out bikes out again at some point in 2020, but in the interests of being sure, 2021 gets my vote too for the rescheduled Welsh weekend.

Thanks for keeping us informed Steve.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Steve,

Similar time in 2021 is good for us as well.

Hope we can get something arranged for later this year as well.

Thanks Steve

May next year is a good solution for us. Hotel is being very fair, I expected them to keep deposits in any case.

Roll on 2021.

Hi Steve, in these uncertain times we would definitely be up for the 7th of may next year. This would also account for bronwin and Ben.

Hi Steve thanks for that. With due respect for other trixters, i personally can not see that far ahead and in these uncertain times they may well go out of business anyway therefore I will be contacting the Lion directly with a view of getting a refund of my deposit.

i will look again nearer the time and re book if it suits.
