Welsh Weekend 2023 (UPDATE)

Postby slparry » Thu Oct 20, 2022 11:21 am

 Right ladies, gentlemen and fellow reprobates :)

UPDATED ****NOW CONFIRMED AS THE HAND HOTEL, LLANGOLLEN ****

Due to the Lion not having full dining at present and the group here saying they enjoyed the Hand I've asked the hand to reserve the weekend for us again, date is the 12th and 13th May

The Hand say that they have at present

"At the moment we have available:
12 x singles
7 x twins
8 x doubles"
42 spaces available

If you'd like to book early (they take a mere £10 reservation) it will assure you of a good spot etc.

https://hand-hotel-llangollen.com/

Phone (01978 860303) to book as they've boxed off the dates so the online system will show as full

Usual note when booking mention "Steve Parry Boxertrix Welsh Weekend"

I appreciate it's a long way off but getting venues to even respond is getting difficult nowadays so thought I'd get the wheels in motion and give all a chance to plan their diaries etc.

40 (of 42 spaces available) Confirmed as booked, plus 3 day visitors:

Hi Steve
Well done on this as I know how much work is involved but can we drop the Hand back into the mix, I believe they did us proud in every respect and there food was far superior to the Lion when we were there last.
The hand would be my preferred venue.
Phil.

Yes the Hand will be my replacement to the Wild Pheasant, my ultimate plan is to have three or four venues we can cycle through on different years.

The Dragon in Montgomery
Baskerville Hall
The Lion in Criccieth
The Hand Llangollen

Baskerville is the difficult one for me as I don't know the area too well so planning rideouts around south Wales has less local knowledge

I'll be there :thumbright:
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Don't forget the Baskerville Hall Steve, as that was a good place and change of routes in mid / south Wales.

I'm booked in. You have to book by 'phone (01978 860303) since the online booking shows up as fully booked.

See you all in the bar!

Paul
