When you sort out the pyramid rear caliper bolts put me down for a couple please mate.Also i have a set of brembo goldline calipers off a mille which could do with some stainless fasteners.I have the fork to caliper bolts,but would like some that hold the calipers together.Any chance on sorting some out for me.Saying that i may need some new caliper to fork bolts as i've got to make a mounting plate as the spacing is different.I will let you know.

Your current stainless supplier is shafting you big style on prices.
£7.25 for 4 M10 x 25mm Socket Caps thats about £1.50 for all 4 and thats at RETAIL PRICES.

Want a new supplier I will be very pleased to sell them to you at a Fiver

Sorry to piss on your fire but you really should research your suppliers and contacts before you go out into the market place.
You are either a, Naieve and being shafted or b, you are ripping of people on this board, I believe it is A

These are just three comparisons that I have made

Is there any difference in the quality or tensile strength of the bolts from the different suppliers?

The prices that Rob is quoting are still way cheaper than anywhere else I've seen for brake grade stainless. I usually go to my local supplier for stainless, who are cheapest of all, but they always advise that their bolts are not suitable for brakes, where as Rob states that his are of a suitable strength. But maybe they are just covering their own arses.

If no cylinder guards are present, the the last 4 M6 x 20 are removed from the kit and so is the 2 M6 x 16 on the underside, M6 x 12 are the blanking holes on the front of the cylinder head

If Boxerdog can do better prices then he's the best person to go to, the above details are all you need to do this now and I'll just go pester the manufacturers for the special items that the bastards are taking fecking ages to do.

I'm with Fraggle on this one.....Excellent service from Rob, prices better than I have seen elswhere, everything bagged/labelled/listed so even a dummy like me can make sense of it all.
If your a saddo like me, put each bolt in your electric drill and polish them with Solvol to get a mirror like finish. :wink:

ok peeps, I've brought a bulk load of fasteners to get the kits cheaper, think I've knocked £3 off my kit price in stocking costs so far but trying to get it lower.

Callipers and Discs are off for the moment but I think I've managed to source the M8 x 32mm (actually M8 x 40 but I'll cut 'em down) for the BMW badged front callipers in A4 grade, once these come through and I can confirm that they ARE A4/70 or 80 grade I should be able to do these again (managed to find 25 for 15p each!)

M10 x 25 are causing some fun at present but I'm trying

I'll keep you posted on when I can knock the kits sub £30 total and the callipers and discs down to better prices

Stempy regarding Stainless quality.
See my post in Boxertech dated March 17th this details all grades of stainless fasteners.

I sell grade 70.

There is no such thing as brake grade stainless.

80 grade stainless is the best you can get this very approximatley the same strength as 8.8 high tensile steel.

All steel cap screws on the 1100S conform to 12.9 grade so in terms of strength 80grade stainless is approximatley only half as strong.

It is easy to tell what grade of stainless you have its stamped on the end either A2 or A4 70 or 80.

With the exception of button head screws which are only available in 70 grade (soft as shit), I use 70 grade torx head screws on my front discs I only use torx head because to try and remove a hex head button head after it has been loctited in will almost certainly deform the hex on removal.

I use, have always used and will always use 70 grade stainless its as cheap as chips cheaper in fact.

Note there is becoming a World shortage in Nickel because the Chinese are not mining it at the moment why because the want to put the World price up, so by the end of this year the cost of raw stainless is set to treble.

I have no axe to grind with Rob at all if folks want to buy from him PLEASE do so, I work for a very busy Engineers Merchant so in all honesty to sell a few quids worth of nuts and bolts and then get grief from my boss that I have overidden the companys minimum invoice charge is a pain but fuck it rules are made to be broken.

In many posts on this board we all complain about the cost of spares and servicing so as a gesture to fellow S riders I have tried to save you some hard earned cash.

That's really interesting - and I'm not taking the piss. As a mechanical numpty who has to think twice about an oil change I just learnt a lot from your post.

In calming the waters slightly, it seems to me that you are at the deep-end of wholesale as far as pricing is concerened whilst Rob provides a good job of selecting, packaging and labelling the right type and size of bolts for our bikes that means us numptys don't have to go and measure every bolt on the bike - which I'd probably get wrong anyway. Infact, I wouldn't bother.

The best solution would seem to be for you to sell to Rob, he packs them up and labels them and sells them on for over-wholesale but sub-retail prices.
Then everybodys happy! :) :)
