Fell off again..

Postby simon » Sat May 02, 2020 1:15 pm

This has not been a good morning.

After spending the last couple of months on Shank's pony courtesy of the lockdown and there being quite a few farms in the area, I decided to take my hour's exercise and go horse riding, something I hadn't done in years.
It turned out to be a big mistake!

I got on the horse and started out slowly, but then went a little faster and before I knew it, we were going as fast as the horse could go.
It was great to feel the wind in my face again!

However when I wanted to slow down and appreciate the view I couldn't get the pace down and came out the saddle. But my foot remained caught in the stirrup.. The horse just would not stop, with me bouncing on the ground!!

Thankfully the manager at Tesco's came out and unplugged the machine.
He actually had the nerve to take the rest of my coins off me so I wouldn't try to ride the Elephant...

You had me going for a moment... Well done matey. Stay safe.
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Yup , first foreign scout camp, the food delivered from the local shops was often ant infested  and when we made it into civilisation the most common song blaring out of shops was " Tie your yellow ribbon round the old oak tree" . The song hasn't grown on me since then and you can probably date when I was actually there from that too... The red sand was unusual though..
I really did manage to fall off while pony trekking too :?
