NEC Motorcycle Live Bike Park theft warning

Postby exoticices » Sun Nov 19, 2017 10:40 pm

A warning about the Motorcycle Live NEC Bike Park for anyone thinking of going...

We went today and on returning to the bikes found that some scrote had knicked the hand guards off my friend's R1150. They had to remove the bar ends and a couple of other bolts so it wasn't a quick or spur of the moment job.
Looking around we saw some other bikes had been similarly tampered with.

This was in the 'secure' indoor bike park. The problem is they have security on the entry & exit but there's no-one patrolling the inside of the bike park itself.

He informed the security office who may or may not do anything about it.
He also posted a message on the Motorcycle Live FB page but they deleted it...

twats .... let's hope karma sorts them out.

Yet another reason I go on the train, £18 return from Wrexham to the NEC, direct train too.

Not good. Secure it is not. Obviously no cctv? Think last year some expensive race team bikes were lifted from the transport vehicle. These venues are huge and lots of people attend some with a different agenda than others unfortunately. Pinching handguards from an old beemer seems the act of a pathetic person. Take care folk.

Is anyone planning on being there on Thursday afternoon? If so, let me know and I'll try and meet up with you to say hello.

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

They said they would look at the CCTV footage and see if they could identify the culprit and then see if they could get the registration of his/her bike and pass on to the police! - I am not holding my breathe!

To top it off it cost me £7 for some more bar end weight bolts!!

Regards,
Russ
It started badly, it tailed off a little in the middle and the less said about the end the better, but apart from that it was excellent.
