Visit to EICMA in Milan

Postby Paul » Sat Nov 10, 2018 7:34 pm

Folks,

I've just returned from Milan where I went with a couple of mates to visit the EICMA motorbike show. I would guestimate that it's about 3 times larger than the Birmingham show and all manufacturers you have ever heard of are there along with a load probably have never heard of. It spans 6 show halls at the Rho Fiera exhibition ground, plus some outside areas with test rides and a huge motocross stadium. We started walking around at 10:30 in the morning and finished the 6th hall at 19:30. Lots to see. There was one half of one hall which had stands selling gloves/helmets/clothing, but the rest of the halls were rammed with interesting motorcycle stuff. A cheap return flight with BA booked 2 months in advance was about £70 and I found a decent hotel in Chinatown for £60 per night, so not too pricy for a couple of days entertainment.

We had a great time wandering around and would highly recommend planning to visit next year. Here are some pictures I took, for your viewing pleasure:

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

I can't recommend a visit to this show highly enough, if like me you wandered through previous NEC or Excel shows in about an hour and left feeling unsatisfied with what was on offer.

cheers,

Paul

Thanks Paul, good report, excellent photos. Looks like a lot of fun, and what's not to like about a couple of nights in Milan. :)
