were would i be able to buy a new camchain tensioner for my 2004 r1100s

There are three tensioners on the 1100 . You can purchase from , Main dealers , Motorworks, Motobins or James Sherlock, and I'm sure there are other sellers also.

Is there not a mod using a tensioner from an 1150? Might be worth upgrading

If the LH tensioner has a 17mm head on it then it is the original tensioner type. Later type has a 15mm head.

It appears that the only parts listed on the 'fiche' is the later version (3 parts, inc the copper gasket);
