Seat repair

Postby radiohead9999 » Fri Jun 12, 2020 3:24 pm

I just had my R1200s bike seat re-upholstered (it had a tear along the side), it was £30. i am really pleased with it and it's soooo comfy :-). It was fro m a place called Auto Trimming in Dormanstown, near Redcar. I'm not sure if he does mail-order, I should have asked. I thought it was a really reasonable price. Any thoughts?

Looking good and £30 sounds a pretty reasonable price. Do they offer additional services like reshaping the seat or putting in gel inserts for greater comfort?
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Hi Paul,

The guy is a biker, so i found out. He asked me how far forward I sat and he added extra padding, but not enough to make the seat look odd, so yes, they do. I am not sure about gel, but i am sure he would try to do that, as he was very helpful. I have no affiliation, my nephew recommended him.

Cheers

Looks good and it is a good price. My two seats cost £70 although he changed the profile and added some colour to the passenger seat.

That sounds good for both seats, would you mind posting a photo? It would be great to see how it looked?

Thanks

Just added the white band to match the bike and changed the foam in the front seat to make it more comfortable.
