Me too! I did 200 miles on my 1200S on the weekend and my wrists are killing me. A quick bit of searching on this forum lead me to HeliBars, which I have now ordered. Given that price may be an issue, I also discovered these: http://www.roxspeedfx.com/cgi-bin/cart/showitems.cgi?subcat_id=268 which g...

Okay - things have taken an interesting turn. Despite many attempts, I've not managed to get access to a welding machine or welder, so suitably frustrated, I decided to take a different tack. I had previously knocked the two center pipes back into the exhaust body with a club hammer (gentle taps req...

No concrete progress yet, however, I've located a local welding and fabrication specialist who says a couple of his staff do track days and have modified their own silencers, so they've agreed to work with me next week in making some changes and welding everything back together, making iterative mod...

Droptarotter: Everything is welded in place - it's remarkably well made and very robust. When I started, I thought it might be possible to simply pull a load of wadding out and be done... So much for that idea! Ned1: Not sure exactly what you mean here? Brighton_Boxer: Go to any BMW dealer and ask i...

Home made silencer?

Hi there. Somewhat depressed by the cost of an Akropovich, I decided I would investigate how easy it would be to modify the existing 1200S silencer to make it a bit louder. I'm not bothered by increased performance, but I am sick to death of the thing sounding like a hedge trimmer, clattering away. ...

Is the r/h fork leg on the S really in that bad condition? Seems at odds with the general condition.

It's not that bad - but I inherited it from the previous owner. Bit of a rub down and a quick lick of paint and you'll never know the difference. :D

Mr Brighton, The bellypan to which you refer is this one: http://www.ilmberger-carbon.de/DSC4413a.jpg Which can be found here: http://www.ilmberger-carbon.de/html/r1200s.html Look for part number: VEU.010.R120S.K I painted the wire mesh black as it looked a bit unfinished in galvanised tin. This is ...

Boxes of Tricks (with pix)

Hi there, I thought seeing it was such a nice day today, that after going for a ride, i get some pix of the bikes up so that you can all make insightful comments about the state of my driveway/graden/garage door... So, here they both are - the GS for the daily commute and the S for weekend fun! http...
