Re: Lightweight wheels.

I've done some checks thanks to the information suppled by Blackel. Dymag and Rotobox only make rear wheels for double sided swingarms(however Dymag said they might make them next year) and BST do make them for the r1200s. Later this year or early next year I will be in a position to buy some BST wh...

Re: Go pro.

BoxerCupR yes I've seen many a youtube video clip which hides the speedo(edited out somehow)this is above my skill levels. Is there a reason for this eg can the police demand to see it or do they peruse youtube to uncover speeding offences?

Has anyone fitted a go pro camera to their bike and if so how and where did you position it on the bike?

Re: who has moved on from the 1100s?

richphela the r1100s is a better touring bike(especially two up) and has a more comfortable seat than the more sports orientated r1200s.

Re: Guzzi anyone?

Looks similar to the r1200 however the exhaust and the rear shock placement look ugly apart from that it looks good having said that Guzzis are very top heavy unlike the Beemers.

Re: Lightweight wheels.

I'm keeping the r1200s and not going the gs route I prefer sport/tourer however the gs is very popular over here. When I go for a ride I have to travel about 100ks (60miles) to get to some decent twisty roads where I like to get into it away from traffic and cops it's just the way it is around my wa...

Re: Lightweight wheels.

Thanks lads no new wheels for me. I'm not interested in bling but only trying to improve the r1200s. The roads around my way are very rough.

Lightweight wheels.

Lightweight or carbonfibre wheels. 1/ can anyone tell of their experience of carbonfibre wheels eg how different/ better they made the bike handle? 2/ are they worth the expense? 3/ can they handle rough roads potholes etc or are they too fragile, brittle? Boxertrix brain trust thanks in advance.

Re: who has moved on from the 1100s?

I had an 1100s it is a great bike but a bit sluggish. I traded mine in on a s1000rr a fantastic sports bike however me and the mrs wanted to go touring so the s1000rr had to go, then came a k1300s probably one of the best all round bikes around however the service costs were very high and when I ret...

Lockdown maintenance.

In N.S.W we're in Covid lockdown, so a good time to do some work on my r1200s. It was due for a 40000km service so I changed oil and filter cleaned air filter, pulled the swingarm out to grease driveshaft and replace bevel box oil and adjust valve clearance. Note I already changed plugs and alt belt...
