HI CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW I USE THE AUXILARY SOCKET ON MY R1100S DO I NEED A SPECIAL LEAD WHAT IS IT USEFUL FOR :?:

Wrong part of the forum really, but never mind.

The auxiallary socket is for anything you want it to be, heated clothing, power take off for Sat Nav, electric pump, whatever, but yes its not a normal car type, its normally refered to as a Hella Type plug, oh yes and you can even use it to charge the battery using BMW's own charger thingy.

Hi,
I use mine for two of the above, to power my sat nav and input for the trickle charger.

It's a great multi-use add-on

Like others, I use mine for heated jacket in the winter, I've changed the connections on my Optimate so I can just plug it into the socket and I also have an adaptor so I can charge my mobile phone and sat. nav.

I wouldn't be without it now.

Try Motorworks, I just got an accessory socket kit (cos I didn't have one) and a cig lead adaptor from them - very helpful.
